Girl Scouts - Daisies

Girl Scouts - Daisies

This young troop has been meeting in our parish hall since 2016. "Daisy" is the first level of Girl Scouting, named for Girl Scout founder Juliette "Daisy" Gordon Low. Daisies are in kindergarten and first grade (ages 5-7); they work on earning Petals focused on the Girl Scout Law, as well as Leaves and Journey Leadership Awards. Their first troop leader, Brittany Cloyd, said:

"Girl Scout Daisy Troop 2890 became a troop in September 2016. Currently comprised of seven kindergarten and first grade girls, Troop 2890 is passionate about animals and chose to work on our 3 Cheers for Animals Journey first. We hope to make a positive impact in our community by volunteering, educating, and implementing change, all while embracing our differences and building self-esteem and character. We are so incredibly grateful to Church of the Ascension for providing a welcoming environment for our meetings and we are excited to work with the Church throughout the year (and hopefully many more to come)!"
