Summer Solstice 2017

A beam of natural light falls directly onto the cross at Ascension's altar from special triangular windows twice a year: from one window at the summer solstice, and from another at the winter solstice. Watching the natural spotlight progress straight up the middle banister, onto the wooden altar, then set the cross ablaze as the sanctuary dimmed, was dazzling.
